I don't usually watch these types of movies, but lately I've been yearning for a great story, acting and dialogue.
I'm talking about "Islands", a Filipino Canadian movie about a 40 year old man who always finds comfort in his parents' home. As their health declines, Joshua wants more out of life.
He reminds me of my family, although I feel every Filipino family has that one child who sticks to comfort and big life changing events give them a wake up call.
The cinematography is incredible, the mood and emotions I feel in those silent shots were reminiscent of times I spent at my parents' place.
I highly recommend this movie, Filipino or not there are elements and themes that everyone can relate to.
